Master of Clinical Psychology

Miyen is known as one of Malaysia’s foremost proponents of the application of psychology, mindfulness and self-compassion, for individual, couple, family, workplace and community, in past 27 years.  She pioneered Employee Assistance Program (EAP) in Malaysia since 1999, written 2 articles on EAP Development in Malaysia for an international publication, providing EAP, corporate training, coaching, crisis intervention, psychotherapy, psychological assessment, lecturing and supervision, including delivering more than 2000 training programs over the years for a wide range of organizations in Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Sri Lanka.

Recent years, she focus more on mindfulness and self-compassion based interventions in managing stress, burnout and enhancing resilience. She is a trained teacher of Mindful Self-Compassion with Center for Mindful Self-Compassion, USA and an apprentice teacher of Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy with Oxford Mindfulness Centre, UK. She has professional membership in Malaysian Society of Clinical Psychology and Employee Assistance Professionals Association; currently a board member of Asia Pacific Employee Assistance Roundtable and Vice-President of Malaysia Association for Mindfulness Practice and Research. Over the years, her work has been featured by various local newspapers, magazines, radio and TV (regular guest for 4 years on Bella NTV7, women’s talk show).
