A DBT skills group is a group-based skills training program aiming to teach individuals a variety of skills to improve their ability to manage their emotions, to cultivate effective relationship skills, and to pursue a life worth living.
DBT is an evidence-based intervention used to support individuals with emotion regulation difficulties and various psychological conditions, including borderline personality disorder (BPD), depression, anxiety, and substance use conditions.
This skills group runs for 15 weekly sessions, with each session lasting 1.5 hours. The program is divided into three main modules: Distress Tolerance, + 了了分明, and Interpersonal Effectiveness. You can choose to join the full program or sign up for the module that best fits your current needs.
Adults (age 18-55) dealing with difficulties with regulating emotions, impulsive behaviors, depressive symptoms, anxiety, and/or self-harm behaviors. Participants need to be proficient in English (we have Mandarin skills group), and are not currently experiencing active psychotic or manic symptoms, or a developmental disorder.
目前有自杀念头或自残行为的参与者必须有一位个人治疗师(心理治疗师、精神科医生或辅导员)定期(至少每月一次)与参与者见面,并同意处理任何与参与者危机风险有关的问题。
