Teaching will include lectures, group discussion, video footage of how to administer the test, and lots of practice scoring and interpreting the data from the classroom role-play.
The workshop will take place in person over two Fridays to minimise time away from work for students/clinicians. Participants will also be assigned reading and exercises from the Workbook. However the cost does not cover the copyrighted materials such as Inkblot cards, scoring templates, and handbooks. Participants will be informed of the possible resources to purchase such materials.
After the training, ongoing support to develop skills and become proficient in the test will be available through group supervision.

Associate Professor Dr. Rachel Ting Sing-Kiat, PhD

Professional qualifications:
Dr. Rachel Ting is an experienced clinical psychologist, a licensed psychologist and eligible clinical supervisor in California, and an adjunct faculty at Fuller Theological Seminary-Graduate School of Psychology (USA). Dr. Rahcel Ting has a wide range of clinical expertise and experiences including depression, grief, trauma, relational problems, ADHD, Learning Disability, religious and spiritual issues, and multiculturalism.
After receiving her PhD training from the accredited institutes in the US since 2006, Dr. Ting has a history of success in establishing and advancing the clinical training in 3 formal full-time roles–Clinical Director (2008-2010) for the first Master in Clinical Psychology program in HELP university, Vice-Chair for first UG Social Work program(2012-2016) in China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL), Internship Coordinator (2018-2019) and Program Chair (2019-2020) for Master of Professional Counselling program (MOPC) in Monash Malaysia. Her clinical orientation is an integration of systemic theory (e.g. culturally informed family therapy) and goal-oriented therapy (e.g. CBT, SFT).
Serving as the first ethics committee chair for Malaysia Society of Clinical Psychology (2020-2023), her passions lie in mentoring younger generation conducting culturally competent research and services. In her academic work, Dr. Ting has received her tenure as Associate Professorship from Monash University Malaysia in 2022, and currently is a self-employed practitioner and an affiliated faculty to a few universities in Malaysia, China and United States. Fluent in both Chinese-Mandarin and English, she is also the author to 9 books, 7 book chapters, 43 journal articles, and editor to a few scholarly journals. Self-identified as a global citizen and humanitarian worker, she is also a founder to two multidisciplinary psychosocial service platforms in China and Malaysia that tackles on difficult social injustice issues of marginalized populations– indigenous people, ethnic minorities, refugees, migrants, and sexual minorities.
With a strong background in psychology and extensive knowledge of various assessment methods, Dr. Rachel Ting has helped many professionals develop their skills in this area. Having worked with diverse and multicultural groups, her knowledge and experience surely will enhance psychologists, counselors, and educators, the understanding and application of psychological assessment and psychotherapy in a multicultural practices. Dr. Rachel Ting has conducted numerous workshops, focusing on both the theoretical foundations and practical applications of psychotherapy and psychological assessment.
Adding on to her expertise in psychological assessment and psychotherapy, Dr, Rachel Ting is known for her approachable teaching style and ability to make complex concepts easy to understand. Dr. Rachel Ting is also passionate about improving practitioners skills in psychological assessments whether for beginners or experienced practitioners. In her leisure time, she likes to explore, travel, and reflect.
