Pei Lynn is a registered clinical psychologist with over two decades of working
experience in the mental health, clinical, humanitarian, tertiary and corporate fields. She has worked with different populations including children and adolescents, young adults, families, working adults, refugees and marginalized groups in the USA, UK and Malaysia.
She began her professional journey working with children who had experienced abuse and neglect, delinquent youths, and refugee teenagers seeking asylum in humanitarian settings. She continued her passion in working with children, adolescents and families back in her home state Penang, and nurtured a special place for children with neurodevelopmental disorders and special needs. She is adept in providing developmental, emotional, behavioral and social assessments and interventions for children. In her subsequent academic and clinical roles in tertiary settings, she strengthened her insight, care and support for young people and their specific needs. She also continued supporting marginalized populations including refugees, human trafficking survivors and intimate partner violence survivors in her role as a clinical psychologist.
As she gained more experience in supporting different clients and needs, Pei Lynn extended her psychological proficiencies to working adults and organizations. As a certified practitioner in Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM), she provides crisis intervention and psychosocial support in critical incidents. She also delivers Psychological First Aid (PFA) training and mental health resilience programs to diverse clientele including the commercial, energy, scholastic, maritime and hi-tech industries in Asia. She has developed and delivered tailored PFA and psychological safety training programs to managers in the corporate setting. Pei Lynn is a Malaysia HRD Corp Accredited Trainer.
In her clinical practice, Pei Lynn emphasizes client-centered, trauma-informed and evidence-based psychological assessments and interventions. She practices Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She is a Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist – Individual (CCTS-I). She also utilizes play, sand and creative arts interventions to meet clients’ different needs.
Pei Lynn is passionate about empowering mental health literacy and building individual and community resilience. She advocates for a multi-disciplinary and collaborative approach in strengthening mental health and wellbeing across diverse clients and their needs.
